The bitter irony is that it's during times of economic strain when the services of animal shelters and pet food pantries are most needed, and they are in such need of funding; pets are so often the silent victims of economic strain, abandoned when people have to make budget cuts or even relocate. Kudos to Best Friends for supporting such a good cause, now and always.
