Worlds Largest Dog Wedding

Toby better not get any ideas on this one! I can hardly afford his peanut butter addiction, let alone someone Else's! How cute though, check it out, the newest Guinness World Record contest this weekend in New Jersey. (thank goodness not here in Illinois, Toby and Allie might have gone!)http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/around-town/events/Marry-Your-Mutt-in-the-Largest-Dog-Wedding-Ever-55034737.html

Thunderwear for dogs

I would have never believed it until I saw it in person. Toby saw too, he was not so keen on it prefers to hang out under my bed in the case I am speaking of! Allie Toby's friend next door gets so stressed out over thunderstorms and fireworks she usually has a panic attack and needs to take anxiety medicine. Until recently she was fine with the medicine after all she got to take it with a treat! She is now 5 and smart enough to know better! Her Mom was talking to their vet about other solutions and he recommended Thunderwear. It is basically a large tight fitting shirt that the dog wears and it helps to calm them during stressful situations! Some dogs I know want nothing to do with wearing clothing, but for those who do, sound like a pretty neat idea. The Daily Herald had an article on it on the 15Th of August. You can go the following site for more information http://www.dogstuff.com/page.html?chapter=0&id=29. It does come in various colors for those pooches who are fashionable!

Give us your emails

Next time you stop by make sure to update your files with your email address. We will send out valuable savings periodically throughout the year. The best part is when you are away on your vacation we will email you a picture of your pet! How cool is that, what a great surprise to open up your email and there in front of you is a cute picture of your best friend on his nature walk, or enjoying his ice cream and story time! We are also now offering online reservations! So on those crazy late nights when you finally have a minute to sit at the computer to accomplish things, you can really accomplish it all! No more writing yourself a note to call and book the reservation in the morning. Providing we have your current email address in our files here, you can go directly to our website and book via the web! http://www.bestfriendspetcare.com/

Bark For Life

Many of you are probably familiar with the American cancer Society and the Relay For Life events. It is a fantastic event that I myself have had the pleasure of being a part of for the past few years. However, every time I went I felt a little sad because I could not have my true best friend, the one that has helped me overcome the obstacles in my life to be a survivor, come with me. Yes, that would be the one and only Toby!! I know I was not the only one feeling that way, every time I would go to an event there was always someone talking about the idea of having our four legged friends joining us too. Finally the day has come. Illinois is host to eight Bark For Life Relays this year. The year is almost over for the events, but they will soon be posting their expected locations for the upcoming year. http://community.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=25180&pg=complist.
